here are my top 5 trends for spring 2009:
this girly trend was a hit from anna sui, christopher kane, galliano and lagerfeld. toughen up these frills with a tough motorcycle jacket or pair a stiff blazer with your ruffles for a menswear feel.
as seen at lanvin, leulla and miu miu, the full skirt is best worn on the natural waist. this is a great trend for you if you have large hips that you want to play down.
yellow popped on the runways at abaete, alexander mcqueen, chris benz and pucci. wake yourself up with a whole yellow ensemble for spring! or, add a yellow accent to any outfit with an accessory, like shoes or a clutch.
this is my favorite trend for spring. finally! some comfort for my poor gams! i loved phillip lim, chloe, diesel, cavalli and stella mccartney.
at betsey johnson, marc by marc and topshop unique, some serious fun went down on the runways. you can add this playful trend into your wardrobe by incorporating humor into your outfits. remember, bright colors, stripes and checks rule for this trend.

the boyfriend jean is my favorite new denim trend this fall. first spotted on katie holmes, this trend has taken off in hollywood. whether wearing PRPS men’s jeans, Current/Elliot, or the classic Levi’s 501, these fashionistas have taken this trend to a whole new level.

DAYTIME
for a more casual look, pair boyfriend jeans with a simple tee and a smart blazer. if it’s a more feminine look you’re after, try a frilly blouse and a comfy cardigan. or try your cozy vintage leopard coat and a simple wife-beater! my favorite is the romantic blouse a la kate moss, lending a feminine edge to these grungy jeans. to finish the look, add a pair of comfy ballet flats, perfect for walking around town.
NIGHT TIME
at night, it’s all about showing the sexiness of wearing your boyfriend’s jeans. go bold with strappy pumps and a gold sequined tank. for a preppier approach, pair a woven brightly-colored top with classic patterned heels. wear these hot leopard pumps with a lace cami and a tough biker jacket. lastly, a draped tunic and strappy heels make boyfriend jeans even more fashion-forward.
whether paired with a hanes vneck and your most worn-in flats or a beautiful silk cami and the sexiest heels you own, boyfriend jeans should be worn with confidence. they should be comfortable to wear, as if you really stole them from your boyfriend’s closet. my favorite way to wear them is a more casual approach, with flats and a simple tee and cardigan. whatever way you wear them, have fun!

zooey deschanel, nylon‘s october covergirl, is my current obsession. from her bulging and beautiful eyes to her quirky and fun style, this girl screams “IT!”. here are my favorites from her nylon spread:
1. look at these GORGEOUS paper bag pants in all colors with metallic accents!
2. i love the patent booties and gentle ocean-inspired color palette.
3. i am completely digging the patent finishes and autumnal colors. this is so not halloween.
